PERU 17th May – 25th May 2020

We are pleased to announce our first ever trip to Peru to visit farms, processing plants and exporters in the Cusco region of Peru.

Peru is the 7th largest exporter of coffee in the world and one of the leading exporters of organic coffees. Coffee is Peru’s second largest agricultural export.

Cuzco is in the South east of Peru and lies at 3400 metres above sea level. The coffee in the Ayachucho region is grown at 1600 metres, growing Caturra and Typica varieties.

We meet on Sunday 17th For dinner and during the following week we will be based in Cusco in the Sacred Valley, visiting the Urumbaba Valley which produces wet processed coffees.

From here we will visit farms and follow the story of coffee processing from picking to export.

We will visit the small farm of the 2018 Cup of Excellence winner.

You will have the opportunity to pick and taste these wonderful coffees and speak to the farmers to select coffees that you may like to bring home to pass on to your customers.

During the week there will be the opportunity to see some rare exotic birds and many humming birds, you can swim in tropical springs with medicinal properties and visit some historic Inca sites.

The trip ends after breakfast on Monday 25th May.

The cost will be £2200 not including flights to & from Cusco.
